My brother turns 30 on July 10. Since he's going to be traveling out of town next weekend, Lisa organized a surprise party to celebrate his 30th birthday! It was tough keeping it a secret but I think we were successful. Here a few pictures of the evening.

We went hiking for a while at Taylorsville Lake today. We weren't that impressed by the trails though. The trails are shared with horses and hikers which leads to some nasty hiking, if you know what I mean. We did get a few decent pictures so thought I'd post them. Enjoy.

Afternoon Trip to the Abbey of Gethsemani
|
|
|
We spent the afternoon of Palm Sunday at the Abbey. I had been scheduled for a retreat there in January of this year but was unable to go. So, we decided to go and spend the afternoon there yesterday. That was a good choice! We had a great time visiting Bardstown and later, the Abbey. We were able to walk around the grounds and spent some time enjoying the silence we found there. At 5:30 p.m., we joined the monks for Evening Prayer. It's funny how spending part of the day there can really improve your perspective on life. After evening prayer, we ate dinner (a buffet!) at the Stephen Foster Restaurant. Very good food! I smiled all the way home. Enjoy the pictures.
